Nigeria's senior women national team has qualified for the next round of the Rio 2016 Olympics following the withdrawal of Mali.
The Super Falcons, who were expected to host Mali on Saturday, May 9 before playing the return leg a week later, sealed a spot to the next stage without kicking the ball.



Confirming the development to Goal, General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation, Dr Sanusi Mohammed said the withdrawal of Mali was due to logistic problems.
"Yes, Mali has withdrawn from playing us in the final qualifiers. The Mali Football Federation said that they do not have enough resources to make the clash," Mohammed told Goal.
Nigeria had previously defeated the Malian women 9-1 on aggregate to seal a place at the 2015 All African Games.
The Super Falcons will now have more time to make their training tour of Europe with barely a month to the Fifa Women's World Cup.
