'I will be king of Nigeria if I win the FA Cup' - Watford striker Odion Ighalo
Super
Eagles of Nigeria and Watford FC of England striker Odion Ighalo has
bragged that he will be dubbed 'king of Nigeria' if he wins the F.A Cup.
Watford
alongside Everton, Man U, and Crystal Palace are in the semi- finals of
the English F.A Cup with Watford's game to be played on Sunday, and Ighalo says winning the F.A cup will be an illustrious end to the season after rejecting a £10m move to China last year.
'I chose my dream first before money,”
“Though
I am not rich, I am blessed,” Ighalo, a devout Christian, says. “I know
in the future I can make more money if I do well so I keep cool. I want
to prove myself.'' Ighalo told The Telegraph UK.
“I
believe in God and I prayed when I faced that situation. I am happy that
I turned it down and it’s really helped me grow as a person. Yes, it
was big money. A lot of money. But I want to keep going in my career.
This is a dream come true so to leave the Premier League and go to China
was not the right thing.
“And I know I can
earn good money here if I prove myself. Maybe other offers will come,
maybe with even more money but I have four more years of contract here
after this season and I am happy. I’m improving. When I joined Watford I
thought they had what it takes to get promoted to the Premier League.
That’s why I joined. I wanted that opportunity.”

Saraki releases statement, denies plans to disrupt his ongoing trial at CCT

The attention of the Media Office of the Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki has been drawn to a press statement released by a group known as the Citizen United For Peace and Stability (CUPS), Titled Security Alert! - Bukola Saraki finally declares war on the Nigerian Senate.The report by CUPS stated that some unnamed sources told them that Senator Bukola Saraki has made plans to disrupt his ongoing trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) by making use of thugs through some key personalities from Kwara State.
The statement is false, malicious and aimed at further denigrating the hard-earned image of Senator Bukola Saraki after their planned sponsored protest failed through earlier awareness to the general public of their sinister moves.
It is worrisome that aggrieved politicians opposed to Saraki's emergence as the Senate President, having failed to remove him, now resort to cheap blackmail by concocting lies under the disguise of "unidentified sources ".
The individuals mentioned in the statement to be planning the sinister move, are prominent Nigerians who respect the rule of law and stand strongly behind the Senate President. In this regard, this is a cheap attempt to intimidate supporters of the Senate President.
It will be recalled that this same mischievous group called CUPS had earlier circulated messages at different times requesting for funds for different non existent political gatherings.
The CUPS has been in the habit of peddling falsehood and deceiving unsuspecting Nigerians as the body has not lived up to its name of maintaining 'peace' and 'stability.'
Senator Bukola Saraki is a law abiding citizen who has demonstrated the utmost respect for the judicial system by taking the pain to attend and defend himself at the Tribunal even though the trial is believed to be borne out of malice and political persecution.
Moreover, Senator Saraki, despite his trial at the CCT has continued to perform his constitutional duties as the Senate President elected by his peers.
It is therefore a gratuitous insult to the Office of the Senate President, and the personalities of the patrotic and decent individuals mentioned in the concocted lies by this organisation to link them with tales of acts of gangsterism and violation of temple of justice.
This propaganda by his political opponents is not new and we urge law abiding citizens to disregard the body, its sponsors and promoters. This is the time to for everybody to forget our narrow, self-serving interest, dissuade the manipulation of state institutions to achieve personal and partisan objectives and ensure that rule of law prevails as prerequisite towards the entrenchment of our democratic tenets.

Publicity secretaries of APC in five Southwest states have asked Ekiti state governor, Ayo Fayose, to seek science and spiritual interventions following his repeated outburst against the Buhari-led government. In a statement jointly signed by APC spokesmen of Ondo, Ekiti, Ogun, Lagos and Osun states, Omo’ba Abayomi Adesanya, Taiwo Olatunbosun; Sola Lawal; Joe Igbokwe and Morakinyo Akintola, they said his actions in recent times depicts a man 'suffering from psychosis.”
The secretaries described as embarrassing Fayose's recent letter to the Chinese President, Xi Jinping, asking for the cancellation of a $2 billion loan to Nigeria. The statement reads in part
“We have observed that Fayose’s public conducts suggest that he has a disease of the mind and mental crisis that need a great assay of science and spiritual intervention to save him before he becomes dangerous to the society. His recent public attitudes call for state of emergency about his mental health. His thoughts and emotions have been so impaired that he has completely lost decorum and conduct expected of a man that can safely live in peace with other people in a sane society where the law works. The last was his embarrassing and illegal communication with the Chinese authority urging President XI Jinping to refuse financial assistance to Nigeria to enable the country address her economic challenges. Also in China, he mounted a rostrum at a train station addressing travellers in tattered clothings and posted his photograph on the Internet, claiming that he was addressing investors in China even when there was no Federal Government’s approval that he ought to seek before a state can embark on such diplomatic trip,”.

FG suspends PTAD DG over claims of her receiving N50m monthly salary and allowances
The Director General of the Pension Transition Arrangement Directorate (PTAD), Nellie Mayshak, has been placed on indefinite suspension and is being investigated after it was discovered that she allegedly received N50 million monthly in salary plus other allowances.
According to The Sun, the discovery was made possible via the Bank Verification Number (BVN) which the CBN used to trace the money being paid to her account every month.
According to the Finance minister’s Special Adviser on Media, Festus Akanbi,
“it is normal within civil service procedure to allow the DG to proceed on indefinite suspension pending when the investigation on the matter is concluded.”PTAD was set up to take care of workers who retired on or before June 30, 2007 under the pay-as-you-go system. Myashak is the pioneer director general of the agency.
Those who are serviced by the agency include the police, customs, immigration, civil servants, para-military and other parastatals.
It was established in August 2013 in compliance with the provisions of section 30 sub-section (2) (a) of the Pension Reform Act (PRA) of 2004 (amended in 2014) which stipulated the establishment of an independent pension department for the public service of the federation.

I can make dollar come back to N200 in one month' - Ifeanyi Ubah

Scary looking Monkey dies in India after being attacked with acid
A monkey has died after suffering devastating injuries it got after being doused by acid. Despite efforts from vets to rescue the animal, it finally gave up the ghost after suffering from severe dehydration and infections gotten from the burn wounds.
‘The type of injuries the monkey had indicated that some sort of acid or chemical had been thrown on it as its chest was completely burnt,’ Veterinary doctor Deepa Katyal said. ‘Moreover, since the injury was old, maggots had eaten most of the flesh. It had burns on its face and hands as well, which were completely scabbed. The animal was completely dehydrated and in a lot of agony,’ Dr Katyal told local press

Do you wear a lot of traditional Nigerian clothes?
Wizkid: When I’m back home, all I wear is African fabric.
All I really rock is the traditional stuff. That’s the in thing right
now. That’s really coming back. Back in the day, our parents used to
wear it every day, and they still do, but now it’s cool for wee young
ones to wear it. It’s amazing. We’re doing it differently. We’re having
it a little bit more fitted. We have styles on it, embroideries and
stuff, by local people, made by hand, designed on it.
How would you describe Lagos style?
Wizkid: Lagos style is fresh and different. Even with the
tailors, they get very innovative with their stuff, with the cuts. When
my parents used to make the traditional wares, it was a little bit
baggy. But now the tailors are able to infuse the European style, making
it slim-fit. Lagos style is different, man. Innovative.
And tailors are everything in Nigeria.

What’s your process when you get something made for you?
Wizkid: I design everything myself, and I get them to make
it. I do a little sketch; sometimes I just sit down with a tailor and
describe what I want. Sometimes we go back and forth, like, for days,
trying to get it right. Sometimes it’ll take a day to make it, sometimes
three, four days. I have a lot of tailors. If I want something made in 12 hours, it will be made in 12 hours.
What kind of clothes did you love growing up?
Wizkid: Growing up in Lagos, I wasn’t fortunate enough to
get the fresh stuff when it was new. There was this place we used to go
to find stuff that had been shipped from America, like secondhand
clothes. I used to rock a lot of Reebok, just a lot of sporty stuff.
Now you can get the expensive shit.
Wizkid: We thank God!
I notice that you’re almost never seen without a pair of sunglasses. How many do you own?
Wizkid: Oh, wow. That’s hard for me. I buy sunglasses every
time I travel, just pick up a pair at the airport. Ray-Bans are my
favorite. They’re ready to go. And I lose them every time. My friends
take them away from me, but I love it.
Did I see on Instagram that you met Christian Louboutin?
Wizkid: Yeah! And I have a lot of his shoes. I rock
everything from high-end fashion to skateboard stuff. We were just at
the store getting some shoes, and he walked in. And I was like, That’s
the guy! Like, Oh, you owe me some checks, boss.
What do you like about his shoes?
Wizkid: The shoes are comfortable and fashionable. I can rock them for my shows or just chilling.
I notice you love a bright, colorful shoe.
Well, I’m actually doing white right now. But I like colorful shoes because most of the time I wear black, so I want it to be where my shoes are popping. I’m wearing Harrods shoes right now.

Wizkid: It’s mad. I have my little cousins in my house all the time taking my stuff.

Would you ever do your own clothing line?
Wizkid: I’m hoping to release a clothing line after my EP,
planned for April. It’s going to be tracksuits, T-shirts, hats, and
African attire as well. I’ll have a special line for traditional
[clothes] with my tailors. Taking Africa to the world.
It’s important to you to do this for Africa.
Yeah, it’s a lot of responsibility. Even for my T-shirts, I’m having the real African prints used as the design on them. I’m getting them locally made in the villages in Nigeria. The proper, proper materials.

Ojuelegba is the name of a neighborhood, right? Why is it important to you to shout out where you’re from?
Wizkid: Ojuelegba is where I grew up. It’s crazy, rough, tough. That’s what built me into what I am today. The streets of Lagos are definitely different from anywhere else in the world. Making it out of there is just madness. You have to experience it. You have kids on the street hawking, just the hustle and bustle. If you stay in the car and drive past Ojuelegba, you will feel the vibe and you will feel the hustle. It’s a very, very, very, very important place to me, because it’s where one of the studios I started recording is [located]. I was there every day of my life for like three, four, five years.

Where do you live now? Are you clubbing? Is Lagos the place to be?
Wizkid: I live in Lekki now. There are new clubs popping up
every day. We go to places like Escape, Sip, and it’s madness. December
is the craziest time to be in Lagos. I just left there, so I’m pretty
exhausted from going hard. Africa is the next thing right now. Talking
fashion, music, anything—Africa is on top of all that.

Kanye West raps about Ray J 'hitting' his wife, Kim K first
This guy is doing anything and everything to hype up the sales of this new album. First, he dissed Taylor and now, he's rapped about his wife's sex tape with Ray J. Below is a report from TMZ
Kanye West mocked Ray J during his album release concert Thursday - about both of them having sex with Kim Kardashian -- but we've learned Kanye called Ray ahead of time to squash any beef.
In one of the tracks, Kanye rapped, "Me and Ray J would probably be friends if we wasn't in love with the same bitch ... you might have hit it first, but I'm rich, though."
The kinder, gentler Kanye must have realized Ray could have taken it badly and launched an attack, so Kim's hubby launched his preemptive strike.
We're told Kanye ran into Brandy and they talked face-to-face, he asked her to tell her brother he meant no harm or disrespect by the lyrics ... he said is was pure fun and he was not talking trash about Ray J's bank account.
In addition, Kanye's rep contacted Ray J's manager, David Weintraub, to reaffirm the message.
As for how Ray J received it, we're told he's cool with both Kanye and Kim and appreciates Kanye reaching out.
Our Ray J sources say he also wants to make something very clear ... he's also very rich and currently has 4 TV shows on the air.

President Buhari yesterday appointed Nasir Adhama as his Special Assistant on Youths and Students affair. Nasir announced this on his facebook wall. He wrote;
